very cheery and us knowledgable about the local happenings. Being west of Sturgis was great for the riding you want to do while at the om Spearfish to Deadwood.to Devils Tower and the Needles Hwy and Mt Rushmore.and on.
#Iron horse bike rally full
For the rally, the convenience to Sturgis was exceptional.5 to 10 minutes to downtown happenings and 20 minutes to Full Throttle Saloon and Buffalo Chip. They also have water and electric spaces for camping.and places for tents. This is a place that is better for people traveling by motorcycle especially due to the parking. Thank you for that! :) Overall, our group had a very nice time and stay at Iron Horse Inn Motel and we will stay there again for any future trips to the rally.
The price was very reasonable for Stugis rally rates. Payments were broken up into 3 installments which helped some in our group economically be able to go on the trip. When bookling our rooms for the rally in October, I emailed and they replied promptly with rates and were very accomodating. Our building also had public restrooms and showers on the end. Also, had can and glass only trash containers but no regular trash containers. A few things that would have made our stay more enjoyable: coffee makers in the rooms, maybe some picnic tables or gathering spot at the end of building (we gathered each evening on concrete in front of rooms which was ok but a designated gathering area near each building would be nice), the staff was friendly but not very informative - we were not told that there was a room in the middle of the building that had extra chairs, vending for drinks, and washer and dryer - we stumbled upon this on our own. Buffet breakfast each morning ($12.95) was very good. They also have a new restaurant and bar on premises now. They are right off of the interstate, too. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Devils Tower, Spearfish Canyon, etc. They are only about 5 miles from Sturgis and very centrally located for the rides we took to Deadwood, Iron Mountain Rd, Mt.
We chose Iron Horse Motel because they were priced well (as Sturgis rally rates go) and because of the location and shuttle service. The service was complimentary to Sturgis but if you want to ride anywhere else, get the wristband deal for unlimited rides within sturgis and to deadwood, Full Throttle, or Buffalo Chip. "Da Bus" service was also good - didn't have to ride bikes into sturgis if we wanted to spend a night there drinking. We used 1 bed for luggage and slept in the other. All rooms were exceptionally clean and maid service daily was great!! Rooms are small, all 2 queen bed rooms, A/C worked great, expect to live out of your luggage because no dressers but do have a few hangers to hang important things. Loved the front door bike parking and partial cover. Trailered bikes and there was plenty of parking space for truck and trailers. Our group of 8 bikes, (7 couples and 1 single), stayed here for Sturgis rally from 7-28 to 8-2-2015.
